MYANMA AIRWAYS

UBA was established in 1948. UBA began its domestic flights the same year with six nine-seater White Dove aircraft flying to 19 airports. In 1950 UBA began its international flights to Bangkok, Calcutta and Chittagong. An Act was enacted in changing UBA to Union of Burma Airways.

It flew to Penang, Singapore and Katmandu beginning 1953 under the international flights extension programme.

Since adoption of the new State administration system in 1972, Union of Burma Airways was changed to Burma Airways Corporation.

In 1989, BAC was reorganized and changed to Myanma Airways and the new emblem was used. MA continued Bangkok, Singapore, Katmandu, Dhaka, Hong Kong and Jakarta runs till August 15 1993.
