In 1992, Ministry of Transport and Communications was separated into three Ministries such as Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Rail Transportation, and Ministry of Communications, Posts and Telegraphs.
Department of Transport was established under the Ministry of Transport with the decision of the State Law and Order Restoration Council’s meeting No (36/92) in September 1992.
Department has organized with two sections; one is Planning and Budget section and another is Administration, Training and Records Section.
