History
Department of Marine Administration was founded since the war days in 1930 and called Principle Port Officer.
Before the second world war, it was called Nautical Adviser & Principal PortOfficer, Merchant Department.
In1956,it was renamed Mercantile Marine Department.
Since 16th May 1972 it has been called by the present name, the Department of Marine Administration .
